Joshua - Social etiquette of Smartphones. Where to draw the line?
First and formost. What is a smartphone? Basically, a smartphone is just your everyday handphone with more advanced computing ability and connectivity.
Phones such as iPhones and Blackberry are all various examples of a smartphone. And these phones all contain certain functions that could keep any user entertained. However, certain users are highly addicted to their smartphones. Everywhere they go, they would look to no where but their phone. If a user has an iPhone, he would always be occupied by the iPhone's excellent applications. Furthermore, the iPhone contains an internet feature where users may serve the web on the go. This feature is one of the most addictive features as users have online applications to browse all the time like Facebook.
I myself use an iphone. And on certain occassions, i too have been too occupied by my phone that i have neglected my friends. During a conversation, i was occupied by the internet feature of my phone. This is an example of not being able to draw the line. Users should know when to do the right thing and should not neglect one's family or friends.
