Are teens in need of etiquette lessons in school?
Written by Shirley Kettler
It is undoubtedly true that adolescents in this generation are far different from those in the past. Be it regarding perception, fashion, and most popular in this century - The Appropriate Behavior.
Many of us grew up in a different environment. Some were spoon-fed consistently by their parents, or some grew to find ways to feed their folks. An individual's background can affect their motivation towards school which causes students to be distracted, rude or disrespectful which may also eventually lead to inappropriate behavior in class. Not all, but some students do need etiquette lessons in school to kick this habit. However, instead of conducting such lessons, other strategies could be adopted to motivate students.
Class games, excursion trips, bonding sessions and such would be more interesting to build relations in class. When such bonds are built, teachers and students will understand each other better and both parties will gain the respect for each other. Afterall, would students really attend these etiquette lessons or would they rather want their instructor to understand them in order for one to concentrate in school?
