Is there any glory ?
On a beautiful gorgeous star-filled night, Singapore won China 3-1. On may 30 singapore made history. Singapore's team,Feng Tianwei, Wang Yuegu and Sun Beibei managed to stun everybody in the world. However they are not true-blue singaporeans. Representing singapore in the championship were not singaporeans. Would there be any glory if singaporeans did not win the championship ?
BUTT.I am on the fence on this one. (:
We shouldn't care where people come from or who we are ! In terms of talent, we can easily spot it. But it's a matter of fact how we discover it ! Even if it's foreign talent, it's considered talent in singapore. So even if the singapore team were not true-blue singaporeans, we should support them and yes, there is glory in this victory. We shouldn't look at the nationality of the people representing them in the olympic games. This people choose to participate, work hard and represent singapore in the olympic games. Shouldn't we support them then ?
It is Singapore that trained them and even it they aren't singaporens, we can still cheer for them. Singapore wants to have racial harmony. Therefore we should consider each other.
i can understand why is there an issue on the nationality of the team. People want true singaporeans to represent singapore. Personally, i would want singapore to have true singaporeans representing them however i can rejoice in victory as this people representing us, are to me, singaporeans as well. It's the heart that counts !
