So, Singapore has won the table tennis world championships. Is there any glory in that? In case u did not know, the players in the Singapore team are all from China. Even the coach is from China. So how do you feel about Singapore winning the championships? Did Singapore win, or did 'Singapore' win?
Personally, i feel that Singapore did not win. I mean, the players are from China. Even the coaches are from China ! All singapore did was pump in money and provide them with a place to practice. The players probably take Singapore as a platform to make it big because they are just average back in China. Different people have different opinions. Some feel that Singapore won on its own while some share the same opinion as me. The latest news is that one of the table tennis stars is going back to China to teach teble tennis. Though the player was groomed in Singapore and was treated as one of us, She has decided to leave Singapore and officialy go back to China to be a coach.
Singapore probably knows about this problem already but Singapore does not have much of a choice as we lack talents due to our small population. We have no choice but to rely on foreign talents.
